Re: Update statistics for large databases

You should change the DBUPSPACE to the following: DBUPSPACE=0:50:1 0 Unlimited disk space usage for sorts 50 50 MB of memory for sorting in memory. This is the maximum that can be giving to memory sorting without PDQ. 1 Do not use index paths and print additional info in sqexplain.out I am guessing the problem is with using index paths. If an index path is choosen for a large index this can really slow down update statistics. Also make sure that when you run update statistics with PDQPRIORITY that you only update tables and not procedures.
