Hi, i have to create an ODBC connection between a Windows XP client (with IBM Informix connect 2.81) and a AIX server. I've installed IBM Informix connect 2.81 on my computer. I gave a look at the documentation provided with the soft but it's not as easy as creating an ODBC connection with an access database!! 1- Do I have to setup all the environment variables?? And how do i know all of them? 2- Do I have to modify something on the server to create the connection? I thank you in advance to indicate me the steps i have to follow to achieve the connection. Don't look at the fine manual - read it! Download "IBM Informix Dynamic Server Administrator's Guide" and read chapter 3, it's only 15 pages. This is a MUST. > > 1- Do I have to setup all the environment variables?? And how do i > know all of them? A DBSERVERNAME or SERVERALIAS using TCP/IP must be defined in $ONCONFIG and in the sqlhosts file. It's all in chap. 3 > > I thank you in advance to indicate me the steps i have to follow to > achieve the connection.
