Unlike the Informix equivalent the Visionware product is compatible with Version 4,5,6,7 of Informix (It detects the version on installation). So if you change your Informix software there is no need to upgrade the ODBC software. It works with both Online and Standard Engines. > My question is Do we need to upgrade to Version 5.0 of Informix > to use ODBC? No. > If so, what is the ballpark price ? This varies from country to country in the UK its about 300 (Pounds Stirling) for both the Unix and PC environments, no idea what the price is in the U.S.. > Also, what is the most preferred way of using ODBC > from a PC based windows machine? Use an application/package you are familiar with, if it supports ODBC. If not, pick something that is easy and simple for the end user. Our customers prefer to use Microsoft Excel, but you can use MS Word, Access, Lotus, Lotus Notes, Word Perfect, Gupta etc... Visionware have a WWW site at http://www.visionware.co.uk/ Regards <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> <> Cliff Warrington <> <> KTL Partnership <> <> Tel : +44 (0)161 763 1286 <> <> Fax : +44 (0)161 763 1180 <> <> Email : cliff@ktl.u-net.com <> <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
