IDS and HP Alpha TRU64

Is anybody running IDS on the HP Alpha TRU64 hardware platform? I have just returned from the IOD2007 conference and was told by multiple people that IDS 11 would not be available on the HP Alpha TRU 64 hardware platform. We are currently running IDS 10 on this platform and would very much like to upgrade to IDS 11. We need to let IBM know we want to continue using IDS and with version 11 being much better than 10, we don't want to be left behind. Our best bet is to notify Fred Ho, Senior Technical Product Manager, Informix Development, Information Management for IBM. His email is hof@us.ibm.com. WOW!!! I thought we were the only one left. We still use the Alpha TRU64 platform for IDS V7.3 and V10. If we could, we would upgrade to V11 on the Alpha. I'll send Mr. Ho an email. Hi, There is also at least one customer in Portugal (I believe there are more) using IDS in Tru64 and I'm sure there are others around the world. I don't disagree with the idea of making some pressure, but we must not forget that support for Tru64 is currently limited and the OS itself is showing it's age. There is no release from it at least since Dec 2006, and even this was a minor release. The latest release was 5.1b and it dates from Dec 2002 (!). From then on we have just seen patch kits. There is info at http://h30097.www3.hp.com/pdf/Tru64UNIX_Policy_Page_Current.pdf So, the question must not be put in terms of "I'd like to keep using IDS", but more in terms of "I'd like to use IDS on Tru64 until HP drops support"... And this should be in a near future. This is why IBM has not ported IDS 11 to Tru64. The specific customer I'm referring is currently analyzing alternatives to Tru64 and they will migrate probably early next year. In this scenario it may not make sense to create a port that won't be usable for more than a few months or maybe an year. I may not have the full story on Tru64 support, so please, if you find some error in the above do correct me. Nevertheless, If I had IDS 11, I'd use it, at least for testing purposes. It apparently is a great release, full of nice features. P.S.: I work for IBM. However the above are my personal views and opinions and in no way are official vies or positions of IBM. Support from HP for TRU64 will continue thru June 2010 at a minimum as their chart shows. We plan on moving to another hardware platform by 2009. To be stuck with IDS 10 and know that IDS 11 has left us behind for 2 years is what I don't want to happen. Others might stay on TRU64 even longer as it is a good system. With all the benefits of IDS 11, non-blocking checkpoints and new sysmaster tables for two, we would really like IDS 11 to be available on TRU 64.
