IDS 10 on Linux - Good or Bad?
Posted in 2005
Topics: Platform-Specific Issues
Our customer is exploring the possibility of running IDS 10 on a Linux platform in the interest of reducing costs. We are currently running Solaris with excellent stability. I see a lot of postings here with problems on Linux machines. I was just wondering if anyone had any *very good* or *very bad* stories to tell and which flavors of Linux and IDS were used. Thanks in advance, Ben sending to informix-list

I have just installed a Redhat box Fedora 4 (until the EL 4 cd arrives). Our DBA then installed informix IDS10UC3RC1 on it, and everything works like a charm. We are replicating databases to webfarms, etc. without any problems. Our latest problem is in fact, on Solaris. We have several date issues on Solaris 9 and the Solaris IDS 10UC3RC1. Sincerely Max

Very boring, nothing ever happens. HTH Michael
