SNMP ODS 7.23/AIX

We have installed ODS 7.23 on a AIX r4.1 system running a MIB II(we think) snmpd. We manually started onsrvapd on the server and then stopped and restarted the demo stores7 database. From the documentation - SNMP subagent guide, we think the onsrvapd process should have started a onsnmp process. Several questions: Are we missing any configuration steps for either the database, onsrvapd, or the AIX's snmpd master agent? Has anyone else used the subagent with the snmpd that comes with AIX 4.1? Once the infrastructure is in place, should we be able to query with a snmpget on a specific OID in the Informix MIBS and get current status?
