Help with configuration

Hi everybody, I am new using DSA. I am configuring the way in which i sould stablish the spaces for the databases.I have 8 disks of 2Gb for this . In 5.01 i used dbspaces and chunks. So the question is: There is another kind of way to hang data? The chunks sould be a partition of 0.5 or 1Gb of data for get a better performance?
