NewEra Class Wizzard and OCX
Posted in 1998
We have got some problems with embedding OCX-Tools in NewEra programs in combination with the use of the NewEra class wizzard. When running applications, which are compiled with classes generated by the class wizzard, the execution terminates with the error message: The requested member is not supported for this particular OCX. After examination of the source-code, we detected that the class wizzard uses the ixOcxField.callMethod()-function to set properties instead of using the "correct" ixOcxField.setProperty()-function. For example to set the number of rows of a Microsoft Flex Grid-control to 10, a function call of Grid.callMethod( "Rows", NEW ixInteger( 10 ) ) is generated, which is in fact not a supported method of this grid. Choosing different create-options in the class wizzard dialog box doesn't succeed. We are very interested in solutions of this problem or help statements, because the use of OCX-controls is a very powerful way to increase the reduced functionality of the visual classes of NewEra. Coding the OCX-property calls manually can't be the right solution. Thank you, Jens
