Well, Linux now supports Informix. This is a really great thing. But right now, brace for a lot of requests like mine: I was a pretty good 4GL developer. For 4 years I was the sole manager/developer of an intense real-time shop, charged with taking inbound '800' calls. 4GL was great, though a little slow. Now ESQL/C is available, and 4GL isn't. Can someone recommend a good primer (online, preferably)? Does anyone here think the 4GL kit will be release before the iBCS will be available for the newest kernels (2.1.110 in particular)? This is a great aliance for consumers- Informix needs more growth to battle Oracle, et al, and Linux needs the solid power of Informix for mission critical applications. I look forward to playing a part in this pivitol movement!
