Is there any way of getting Informix-4GL to recognize >the HP color scheme, as well as the HP function keys? In the shipped >verion of Informix, hp is not in the termcap file. Has anyone done >this? I have done this. It can be a pain, but color sure does look nice. This all requires going in and creating a termcap entry for the HP terminal. You must use termcap as terminfo won't support the color info. The Informix manual is the best place to look for info on the special stuff needed to do the color even though there are books out there that cover basic termcap stuff. A good start for the basic termcap entry is to decompile the terminfo that exists on the HP and start with that. The hardest part is definitely the color... Informix has chosen to handle color by placing a single string in a single termcap field. This string serves as instructions to be fed to a stack oriented processor which will evaluate the string and return an escape sequence which when displayed will display the appropriate color. Look in the Informix manual first (somewhere in the appendix), if this doesn't scare you off and you still have questions, let me know... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Informix Premier Var -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Miguel A.
