NewEra to SQL Server 6.5

I've been trying to connect a simple app we have connected to a 5.01 Informix online engine through an Intersolv ODBC driver to SQL Server 6.5. Intersolv says we have their latest ODBC driver for SQL server, and we're using NewEra 2.20. It will retrieve records ok and you can make a few transactions and then it just quits working. Is anybody else on the planet using this pagan product to connect to anything but an Informix server?
