Error -951 on Dynamic Server

Hello. I've recently run across a very unusual situation:
We have a client and a server. The server is running OnLine Dynamic Server
7.22 with ODBC on Sparc Stations. Previously we were able to connect to
the server from the client using dbaccess and adhoc (the latter supplied
by Informix) without supplying a username and password (hosts.equiv has a
'+' to allow blow-through).
On another server on the LAN we upgraded to 7.23 then things just went
nuts. We can't connect to the server from the client using the
blow-through method on the LAN with the ODBC drivers (using adhoc for this
test). DBaccess and rlogin work just fine still. On a local-loop (from the
server to the server) it works fine (with and without a password for
DBaccess and adhoc) but not client-server connectivity!
The error message I get back is:
{error} STATE=S1000, CODE=0, MSG=[INTERSOLV][ODBC Informix
driver][Informix]Incorrect password or user -p is not known on the
database server.
It's looking for a user '-p' is what I've been able to determine.
Any help would be great! And please reply via email.
Thanks,
Joseph
