It supports pretty much any database youve heard of (Informix, Oracle, Ingres, Sybase, RDB, Allbase, NT SQL Server, Basis and others I cant recall at the moment), running on just about any platform (a bunch of Unix, VMS, MPE, etc). The clients can be Windows, Motif, Mac, character cell terminals. The stuff you develop is portable between the various environments to an astonishing extent. (Move the source, build and run). They are in the midst of changing from version 5 to version 6, the end result of which is to increase the "GUIness" of the development environment and the applications you generate. The company is about 10 years old, was started in the Netherlands, and was aquired by a company called Compuware last year (a largish software company from the IBM mainframe world). Im using Online as my database, with Windows and character cell clients (on V5). Ive been generally pretty happy with it.
