I haven't used DBD::Informix, but the error and readme file look alot
like an esqlc application I have used which required a tcp connection
instead of shared memory. From your sqlhosts file, it looks like you may
have a tcp connection available. Check your onconfig file for a
DBSERVERALIASES tli_on reference. And check your services file for a
line that looks something like cracker_on 1526/tcp
If you have these, try changing INFORMIXSERVER=tli_on and rerun the process.
