Re: Client host or user is not trusted by the server

Hi,
I'm not sure what you mean by "via DBlink".
You can execute such remote or distributed queries,
but for them to work, the user informix must be trusted
on the remote system. There are mainly two ways to
achieve this:
- for user informix on the remote machine have an entry
in the .rhosts file in user informix's home directory that
notifies that user informix from the other system (where
you initiate the remote query) is trusted.
entries usually look like this:
machinename informix
where "machinename" is the name of the UNIX machine
(not the IDS server name).
You may need two entries, one with a long name including
the UNIX domain , one with the short name.
- using an entry in file /etc/hosts.equiv .
If you're not familiar with these UNIX concepts, please read
more info in the UNIX man pages or in a UNIX System
Administration book.
As far as I know, these methods will work without "DBlink".
Regards,
Martin
