INET 5.0 for Win - Over SLIP

SUBJECT - INET over SLIP/PPP ----------------------------------------------- hello all we are running inet 5.0 for windows connecting to a HP server running 7.11 online we are also using chameleon nfs 4.5 for our net software. inet works fine when using a token ring card. i can run informix ilogin and get into the database, i can run my gui front end application and this works fine as well. for the gui app i have to use an odbc driver - intersolve but that is just a side note. when i establish a slip connection however - and try to run informix ilogin - to test if inet by itself can get to the database i get a -932 error from inet. this is a generic winsock.dll error according to finderr. informix tech support - we do not support slip / ppp - however it should work. chameleon tech support - we are winsock 1.1 compliant. my questions are - is inet over slip or ppp supposed to work - at least in theory? has anyone done this before - using slip with another winsock vendor (FTP ...)? does this work with ppp? - hp does not support ppp. thanks in advance please send reply to Sam.X.Alwan@fnb.sprint.com or salwan@aol.com or post ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once upon a time there was a nice little database company named Infomrix and a big, old and ugly database company named Oracle.
