They have gotten a lot of good press lately. They have a very good X-window package but we us MS :-( We have re-aligned our business here, so now Mainframe COBAL programmers work side-by-side with UNIX/Informix and UNIX/C programmers. We are currently looking at a company named LEGENT, who does cross platform, has a MS-Windows interface, and has a software distribution package (I'll post the outcome). I haven't talked to them... but they are Informix DBMS based and should fit in with an Informix environment quite well. I went to a sales pitch/seminar/demo thing with Intersolv. There was quite a turn out (maybe I should get into the SCM business). I wasn't impressed. Their technical person couldn't answer most of the questions that were posed to her. This makes me think that it may be to cumbersome. She didn't know what I meant when I asked about impact analysis. To me, being able to query the database for strings is a very important feature of a SCM tool (they don't provide this feature, Aide-de-Camp does though). Hope this helps.
