2 GB limit SE + SQL?

I am running running Informix SE 7.24.UC5 and SQL 7.20.UD1 on a Sun Ultra 10S using Solaris 2.6 (5/98). When the disk partitions were set up, it was set up as a flat file with one major slice of 3.7 GB. I have one main database and the .dbs directory that retains the .dat and .idx files is only 143 MB. I have noticed a 2GB limit mentioned - does that limit apply to the above environment? Would the 2GB limit be for .ace, .arc, .per, .frm files? Or, is it for the above .dat and .idx files? Even if the 2GB limit does not apply, are there benefits to having one large slice > 2GB? Or is it more beneficial to have a slice < 2GB? Thanks.
