Derek I could not find the NETTYPE parameter so that probably means that it will try to find a ipcshm service with 1 poll thread and 50 connections using the VP class CPU. Can you post the $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts file as well? It should have an entry pointing to the /etc/services file like so: $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts foffice onipcshm your_hostname your_servicename and in /etc/services you should have a line like this: your_servicename tcp/nnnn where nnnn is a unique port number you assign to the listener thread of the IDS engine.
