Get schema from Oracle apps, create table with no index, load data(you may want to experiment with small database first), run script to create index, ususally if you have about 500,000-1m rows, creating 5-8 indices will take about 5-6 hours. 2. Physical database layout is important: put rootdbspace, phys dbspace, and logical dbspace in its own dbspace. 3. New Era? New Era's application is a DBA's nightmare; you may want to look at other client server tools; or use HTML/cgi's/java to build your reports/apps.
