Hi all!
I am currently running ids 7.31 32-bit on hp-ux 10.20 with the 7.20
tools, and I'm planning a migration to an hp-ux 11.00 64-bit box running
ids2000 and the 7.30 tools.
Does anyone out there know whether or not I'll need to recompile all my
executables under the new architecture (i.e. 4gl, esql-cobol, esqlc,
etc..)? In the past, I've had success moving executables from 10.20
32bit to 11.00 64-bit on the 7.31 engine (UC4 to FC4). Maybe I just got
lucky?
If anyone else has made this migration and encountered problems of any
kind, a heads up would be very welcomed.
Also, any ideas on a migration path? or am I stuck dbexport/importing
all my databases.
Thanks in Advance,
KTK

I think you should re-compile. We did on the same path. Also, you have to
use tcp connections as the 32-bit toolset can't use shm.
No need to dbexport/dbimport though. Indeed, that would be have a nightmare
for our 250GByte database. Just shut down, switch to the 9.2x environment,
and the engine comes back up as a 9.2x one as sweet as a nut.
