Dirty reads with OnLine

As a recent SE convert, I am having trouble migrating to OnLine. What I want (NEED) is row level locking and dirty reads. Just like SE. Problem is I can't seem to make it happen. Dirty reads seem to have to be set in each piece of code. With perform and acecode, 4GL, ESQL/C and PowerBuilder, we are talking about an awful lot of code. There MUST be an easier way. Locking was easy....except! I set row level locking which works except that it defaults to page level locking within transactions. Am I making this harder than it needs to be? Any help would be appreciated greatly! Tim Porreca
