Security Issue - I-Net

When I-Net for Windows connects with OnLine, is the user id and password sent in an encrypted form and then decrypted on the server side or are they sent in a decrypted form? Our customer is looking for a little security and I got the bright idea that maybe the password is sent in an encrypted form because it is stored in an encrypted form on the PC in the file "informix.ini".
