Rename Indexes

I know that Informix does not have a 'Rename Index' nor 'Rename Constraint', but does Informix provide a stored procedure to 'Rename Index' information in the systables, sysindexes or sysconstraints... Will damage be caused in doing this if I do it myself(YES)? I am running 7.13 and am using DBIPERL under AIX. I am looking at saving the time of being able to rename a table and not having to drop and create the indexes/constraints. - Thanks in advance... Please reply as e-mail.
