The instructions in the release notes are not recommendations but simply
the values that the engineers used to test the database on that
platform. They are simply values that CAN work and should be treated as
minimum values. For example the info_shmmax value is probably too
small. You have to estimate you actual shared memory usage based on:
Number of chunk table pages (((2019+(28+avgpathlength))*#chunks)/2020)
Number of Dbspace table pages
Number of Tblspace table pages
Number of locks
#LRU Queues
Size of Physical Log Buffer
Size of Logical Log Buffer
Number of Data Buffers
See the Administrator's Manual (page 12-8,9 in the 7.1 manual) "How much
shared memory...".
