ace reports
Posted in 1993
In version 2.1 of isql you can do an ace report and always get a header for your page header. In 4.10 you don't get a page header if there is no data. We have a number of reports which were written under 2.1 which needed to print one line of data. The programmer(s) in question used page header or even first page header to get that data to print. With our move to 4.10 suddenyl these reports didn't work. We fixed them by changing the header statement to an 'on last row'. We have 'discovered' that any ace report that has the 'ON EVERY ROW' commented out (No, I haven't checked the AFTERs or BEFOREs yet) wil not print data. Was this a bug in 2.1 that was 'corrected' when it moved to 4.10 - or was this unintentional? Are we the only the platform that this occurs on? ISQL 4.10 HPUX 8.x Ellen has also noticed that there is a limit to the number of select statements you can have in an ace report (30). But I'll let her tell you about it. j. _____________________________________________________________________________ Jack Parker - Contractor | Hewlett Packard, BSMC Boise, Idaho, USA| I've forgotten more than jparker@hpbs2561.boi.hp.com | I ever knew (208) 323-5388 (W) (208) 384-1623 (H) | _____________________________________________________________________________
