A motion was presented last Monday to the General Council of the United Nations which will actually 'halt time' for four weeks starting on midnight, 31st December 1999. (See Motion#: UNGC 71321-A, with supporting documents. An Alta Vista search is bound to bring it up.) The idea is that this will give MIS shops enough time to dump and restore their entire data holdings with the date correction. This has also been brought before the US Congress (House Bill: USC 37518-A) although it's currently the subject of squabling in the House Ways-and-Means Committee. So! Don't worry! Do nothing until you receive a notification in the mail that you have four weeks to get your data in order. Hope this sets your mind at ease. PB
