Hello,
I have got Caldera 1.3 with Linux kernel 2.0.35.
I have installed SE (free download) and this works fine, I can create
databases, tables, queries etc with dbaccess.
I have downloaded the Informix 4GL and Informix Debugger version 7.20.UD1.
and installed both.
As user informix I try to run fgldb, i4gl, c4gl from $INFORMIXDIR/bin using
the command ./fgldb, ./i4gl or ./c4gl. I receive the error messages
fgldb: No such file or directory
i4gl: No such file or directory
c4gl: No such file or directory
The permissions for these files are
rwxr-xr-x 1 informix informix
1336879 APR 14 18:14 flgdb
rwxr-xr-x 1 informix informix
1098566 APR 14 18:14 i4gl
Can anybody tell me why they will not run??
Thanks in advance .. . .

One possibility, using the shell ./ syntax requires that the directory
tree be executable so if INFORMIXDIR=/usr/opt/informix/ifmx7.30 then
/usr, /usr/opt, /usr/opt/informix, and $INFORMIXDIR itself as well as
$INFORMIXDIR/bin must all have execute permissions for informix or
other (ie at least r-xr-xr-x) on the directories themselves. Can you
execute these programs using PATH?

Were the SDK's loaded before the Database server?
I know IDS requires a particular load order.

Does Caldera 1.3 come with glibc 2.0.7? If not, you may have
problems...

Please get 7.20.UD7 - it has some rather important bug fixes in it.
Little things, like interrupt handling.

If you run "file fgldb", what does it say?
If you run "ldd fgldb", what does it say?
Finally, note that to use fgldb, you need the p-code compiler,
fglpc etc, available from I4GL-RDS. You can't use fgldb to debug
I4GL c-code programs compiled with c4gl.
