Stored Procedure Strangeness?

I'm running a stored procedure that executes: "select * from A, outer B where A.FK = B.PK" If A.FK is not null, I get success. If A.FK *is* null, I get (in DB-Access) a whole set of (expression)'s but no data. Are there known bugs with stored procedures using outer joins?
