Have you tried MS-Query and ODBC? Intersolv offers Informix ODBC drivers that run over Inet/PC and give you Informix connectivity from any ODBC-aware Windows software. MS-Query comes with Excel, Word etc. and lets you interface these apps with Informix (and other RDBMS).
