IDS 9.40fc9 Aix 5.3 I currently use onbar with TSM to perform backups ... I also have restored these backups to remote servers ... Now I have the need to restore the backup to a new instance on the same server. Can this be done ? I would use the -rename option to rename the underlying chunks ... Then it works just fine. Reconfigure the new instanc once it is came online (SERVERNUM, DBSERVERNAME, DBSERVERALIAS, INFORMIXSERVER, whatever ) then run the two instances just if you had two separate instance from the very beginning.
