Well, there **are** other options. Split mirror. Log shipping. These may involve buying additional hardware/software like FAStT. Go to the IBM website and search for 'flash copy'. This is the equivalent of EMC's BCV split mirror. What might also be useful is for you to pick up two books from IBM: DB2 Universal Database v8 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows Database Administration Certification Guide ISBN 0-13-046361-2 Advanced DBA Certification Guide and Reference for DB2 Universal Database v8 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows ISBN 0-13-046388-4 These are probably the only two books you'll need for a lot of great information on DB2. The advanced guide goes over the different HADR options. It also has on the CD a complete doc-set of all the DB2 documentation in PDF's. What you can't find in these books is online. If you have to choose between the two books get the advanced guide it also goes over a lot of other essential information like backups, partitioning, log management, etc. "rkusenet" <rkusenet@sympatico.ca> wrote in message news:2kbrniFhf2aU1@uni-berlin.de... > > "Data Goob" <datagoob@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:kz2Ec.73970$HT5.46827@fe43.usenetserver.com... > > It's my understanding that replication is an up-and-coming feature > > for DB2 in Stinger, modeled after Informix HADR: > > DB2 is still not as good as Informix in HADR.
