Replication from Informix to MySQL
Posted in 2006
Jeff Filippi sought a product to replicate one-way from Informix to several MySQL servers without ER licence costs. Sergio said none was known but a trigger plus Java UDT could do it. Richard Snoke said Praxis was acquired by Progress and its Peer Direct was no longer sold. Jack Parker suggested Golden Gate.

Is there any product out there that does replication from Informix to MySQL. There use to be a product Ominireplicator by Praxis that did trigger based replication before ER was even available, but I could not find any information on them. My client is looking to replicate from Informix to multiple MySQL servers parts of the data to each MySQL server (One way replication). They do not want to use ER because of license costs of Informix on all the other servers. Thanks, Jeff
Hi. For what I know there is no such product. But even if there is no product, this can be easily made (in Informix > 9.X). It can be made a trigger and Java UDT generation that does this. If you need professional assistance e-mail me directly. Praxis was acquired by Progress Software a few years ago. From their web site (http://www.progress.com), it appears that Progress no longer sells (but still supports) Peer Direct. Golden Gate has a product which is database neutral and can do things like replication. j. > Is there any product out there that does replication from Informix to > MySQL. > There use to be a product Ominireplicator by Praxis that did trigger based > replication before ER was even available, but I could not find any > information on them. > > My client is looking to replicate from Informix to multiple MySQL servers > parts of the data to each MySQL server (One way replication).
