Question another way

Any ideas if I can get round this:-
SQL: New Run Modify Use-editor Output Choose Save Info Drop
Exit
Modify the current SQL statements using the SQL editor.
------------------------------------------------ Press CTRL-W for Help
-------
connect to `@someserver` user `someuser` using `somepasswrd`;
32412: USING clause unsupported. DB-Access will prompt you for a
password.
++++++
Version on HPUnix
DB-Access Version 10.00.FC10
If I try and make a synonym:-
create synonym somesynonym for someuser@someserver:sometab;# ^
# 387: No connect permission.
#
# 111: ISAM error: no record found.
#
#
I want to run this in a script that does NOT ask for the password, I
already have that.
What is in the configs that is telling dbaccess to do this?
Having DBA in all instances, is there a way to get access to this
instance without the password?
If I had `expect` I could force the issue as I know both user and
using, but alas this is not on Production.
I just want to select from the passworded instance from my script that
will be used by other users who will not know the password or much
else really.
No access to Informix user, thankfully.

Why not use a scripting language designed for the purpose rather than
trying to force dbaccess to do something it's not designed for?
perl/python/ruby etc etc

Well, really bad in all ways as regards security but ...
Put this in a .sql file (or generate however you want :
> cat aa.sql
CONNECT to "@someserver" user "someuser" USING "somepassword";
database sysmaster;
select current from systables where tabid = 1;
> dbaccess - aa
Connected.
Database selected.
