You can also purchase the Intersolv/Q+E DataDirect ODBC database drivers for relational databases. Good luck! Best Regards Jessica : Well the best way to do this is to use one of the commercially available : front end tools and some middleware/server software. : There are many front-end applications available on the Macintosh that are : DAL or ODBC aware. Some of the front end tools that do ad-hoc queries are : Brio's DataPrism, Andyne's GQL and PaBLO, Fairfield Software's Clear : Access and SelectStar's StarTreive. Beyond just doing queries there are : over 40 commercially available applications and application development : environments that enable the Macintosh to access Informix. : Once you have the application you need the client-server middleware to : access Informix remotely. There is EDA/SQL from Information Builders, : SequeLink from Techgnosisand the DAL Server for Unix from Pacer Software : (the company I work for). All of these work quite well. If you would : like more information on DAL please send me email at the address listed : below. : -- : Paul Kamp : Pacer Software, Inc. : pgk@pacersoft.com : Applelink: PACER
