Re: IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 11.10.UB4TL on SuSE

Define control. There are a few IBM people who monitor the iiug, and yes, some of them are involved in the Cheetah release. However from a support standpoint there needs to be a centralized location for receiving issues. Is that some attempt at control. Sure, but that is the same as every other Open Beta I'm aware of. Take another big Open Beta at the moment , namely Adobe Photoshop CS3, whcich I can attest to because I'm a beta tester. Do I get support from the National Association of Photoshop Porfessionals on my open beta copy of Photoshop CS3? Sure, but if I have a real problem I am directed to labs.adobe.com and the Photoshop CS3 forums, and from there an actual Customer support request to Adobe. Just food for thought. ----- Original Message ---- From: Ian Michael Gumby <im_gumby@hotmail.com> To: jgp@jgp.net; majp51@yahoo.com; informix-list@iiug.org Sent: Monday, February 19, 2007 7:25:56 PM Subject: RE: IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 11.10.UB4TL on SuSE >From: "Jean Georges Perrin" <jgp@jgp.net> >To: "'Mark Jamison'" <majp51@yahoo.com>,<informix-list@iiug.org> > >IBM can (and does) monitor CDI too. ;-) > > Right. But I think the idea is to steer all beta talk over to IBM so that they can control the conversation(s). _________________________________________________________________ Dont miss your chance to WIN 10 hours of private jet travel from Microsoft® Office Live http://clk.atdmt.com/MRT/go/mcrssaub0540002499mrt/direct/01/
