What shell (and Unix variant, I guess) are you running? I use csh under Sun OS 4.1.3, and on my system kill is in library /bin, as I reported. For that matter, my system does not have a `type' command. Closest thing seems to be the `file' command: 67 % file /bin/kill /bin/kill: sparc pure dynamically linked executable Regards, Alan ___________________________ ______________________| R.
