Wingz, Curve-fitting

Has anyone written any curve fitters for Wingz (polynomial, logarithmic, power, etc)? Was this in Hyperscript, an external function, or a separate program entirely? How well is it integrated into Wingz? I would be highly interested in both (1) pointers on writing my own curve fitters and (2) any curve fitters that anyone is willing to e-mail me that are either written in Hyperscript or could be ported to the Macintosh without MAJOR difficulty. I am running Wingz on a Macintosh, so solutions requiring UNIX are of no use to me. I have written a script in Wingz to do polynomial curve fitting. Unfortunately, for some reason, though it gives the same answers as other programs for given data, it is often unable to fit data to as high of a polynomial degree as other programs (due to indeterminant matrices when n-solve is called, which seems to be due to lost accuracy). Also, it is VERY slow. If anyone thinks that this should not be the case and that I am doing something wrong/inefficiently, e-mail me. I attempted to write an external tool for Wingz (in C) that would do curve fits more quickly and return the coefficients. I ran into difficulties integrating this smoothly into Wingz. E-mail me if you would like more details on the Mac specific portion of my efforts. Deepest thanks in advance to all who respond. Jess Holle jess@ecn.purdue.edu
