Updating a SERIAL field

Informixers, Any suggestion on the following problem: I have a db, and a C struct that corresponds directly to one of the tables. So, selecting & inserting is easy; I fill the struct with data & I do it. The problem that I have is when I am trying to UPDATE since one of the fields is a SERIAL. The error that I get back is : (-232 - trying to update a serial field) Any suggestions of what data would trick ifmx & do the update. -Takis Vouganis
