How to list all database names in a dbspace?

My sysadmin tells me that the tbcheck -pe command should not be used on our system -- it corrupts the databases if blobs are in them (this is a UNIX (Sun OS) system). I therefore cannot parse the output of the tbcheck command to get a list of all datbases on the host server. Can anyone suggest an alternate method?
