Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Is it possible to use a remote tape drive with OnBar and ISM? Has
anybody done this? I'd like to do something similar as with ontape,
ie reference the remote device with TAPEDEV onconfig parameter and a
trust between machines. I've tried a few things, but can't get the
local ism daemon to recognize a remote device either from Unix command
line or with the client Informix Storage Manager.
Any ideas? (Last time Officer Friendly pulled me over I handed him the
vehicle registration. He then said, "Got any ID?" "'bout what?" I
asked back. Wife bailed me out at the precinct).
Using IDS 7.31.UC-4 on Solaris 2.7/Intel (don't ask).

Gee... we have the same here for our national apps...
ISM cannot do it... as shipped. Other, more complete, storage managers may
be able to.
