Re: Status of Newera ??

Please define suitable. I know quite a few that can easily replace it. Take a look at IBM's VisualAge for Smalltalk. That is what we now use after dumping New Era. It works in Windows 3.1/95/NT, OS/2, AIX, Solaris, and HP/UX (I think). Delphi from Borland is also a nice choice, if you are a Windows only shop. Powerbuilder also comes to mind. Heck, I once thought Powerbuilder was the worst tool I have ever used (v3.x). That is, before I ever had the misfortune of using New Era. As for OpenStep, well that one is also very good. I just like VisualAge more. :-) Jun Nolasco nolasco@inx.net Michael Segel wrote: > Billy Wheeler wrote: > > > > > > > However, having said that, we have still not found a suitable > > replacement, and any (useful) comments would be appreciated... > > > Yeah, > Try OpenStep from NeXT/Apple.
