Reading text file by Powerbuilder program

Is it true that there is a limit to the size of text file that can be read by Powerbuilder? My problem is, I'm using a Powerbuilder application to load ASCII text file into Informix database. Users have been complaining of missing record now and then. When I tried to reload all the data (amounting to 78777 records/5MB+) after deleting the whole table, only 70000+ went in although there is no error reported. Attempt to split the file into 10,000 each and loading resulted only 2009 records out of 10,000 successfully insert. Only manage to load in when the file size is 2,000 records (average 70 char per rec). My supplier told me that the limit of text file size is 32765 byte which I feel is ridiculous for a high end development tool.
