I'm not sure where your grapevine information is comming from or what version(s) of Informix it may be refering to, but we have several clients running both datawarehousing and OLTP applications (somtimes on the same machine/instance of Informix -- not a good idea for performance, but it works) without experiencing any of the problems you mention above. The Informix versions involved are generally ODS/IDS 7.1x and greater. There are many well documented cases of Informix being used on multi-gigabyte and tera-byte plus datawarehouses with record setting performance. From a purely technical stand point, Informix is very solid choice for a datawarehouse. Irwin Goldstein Objective Software Systems, Inc. http://www.objectsoft.com
