Just check sqlca.sqlawarn after opening a database. That tells you lots. And it's all in the Informix-4GL manuals. It's even in Cathy Kipp's book - which is lucky for you as I have a copy of that at home (I'm really sad!). If you look at SQLAWARN[4] it is set to W if the database statement selected an Informix-Online database. We have a method from ages back to do with what binaries are in $INFORMIXDIR but I don't like that.
