Hello I'm a beginner in informix world and I got some problems ... I retreive some XXXX.dbs and other files from the customer computer and I have to search for errors in his .4gl files but I don't know how to load XXXX.dbs in MY informix environement Must I do DBexport and DBimport ? (don't know how to use it) is there another solution ? thanks a lot
Is this an SE database? What version? Do you have the software installed?
If SE and you have the same software version as your client then you COULD
fake it out and create the XXX.dbs directory and place the files there. Then
just set DBPATH=/pathto/XXX.dbs and it should work. Alternatively you could
dbexport on the client site and dbimport at yours. That would certainly be
clean. Just run dbexport to see its command line options or read the Guide to
SQL Reference for a description of the commands and examples.
