PDQ Woes

OK,
so a user job has been running now (we joke not), 2 days on
one little select, ok its lots of data.
So I kill it, my box was grinding.
I run it with MAX PDQ at 10, it crawls, my box crawls.
I set PDQPRIORITY=75 (I know, but I'm the admin and no-ones gonna
say nuttin). Then it rocks with speed, but onstat -u | grep brett
suddenly show 21 connections from the SAME terminal.
Any ideas? Set the PDQ down and poof, one connection

# ps -ef | kill -9 `awk '/albatross/{print $2}'`

set PDQPRIORITY=HIGH in your Environment Variables andMAX_PDQPRIORITY 1
DS_MAX_QUERIES 40
DS_TOTAL_MEMORY 512000
in onconfig restart the engine and see what you get. Make sure you have
plenty of buffers (25% of machines memory at least).
