Re: Process exited with return code 142: -logical logs [5300

FYI, if you DO want the ALARMPROGRAM to archive your logical logs as they fill,
you can get my package, utils3_ak, from the IIUG Software Repository it
contains
a replacement log_full.sh that uses ontape and a alternate executable
ALARMPROGRAM eventalarm which not only archives the logs to disk but also can
send email notices when critical server events occur. Also included is a cron
script to delete older logical log archive files once they've been picked up by
your system archive.

You did not change the ALARMPROGRAM entry in the ONCONFIG file. It is
pointing
to the default value, log_full.sh, which tries to use onbar to archive
logical
logs as they fill. If you do not have onbar configured you will get this
spurious 142 error in the MSG log every time a logical log fills. Probably
before after the upgrade you reinstalled IDS and that overwrote the
log_full.sh
you were using with the default one, or you were unfortunately using the
default
onconfig file, onconfig.std, which would have also been overwritten by the
reinstall.
