PDQPRIORITY and POWERPLAY (Impromptu)

Hello, has anybody managed to get PowerPlay/Impromptu to take advantage of PDQ using either the public/private environment variable PDQPRIORITY? I can get DBACCESS to work with PDQ without having to use an SQL SET PDQPRIORITY statement, but when I try using IMPROMPTU the process is not using PDQ. I have also tried using ROM on my PC, but the ROM SQL query only takes advantage of PDQ if I use a set statement in the SQL query. Platform: DEC ALPHA Unix OSF1, Informix Online 7.24.
