users, you could try to grant the connection to public:
GRANT CONNECT TO public

As I see you use the Client SDK's Informix Object Interface for Java,
may be I'm wrong. I couldn't make this product to run either.
It runs Ok on one computer and failes on another with "Out of Memory"
error.
